Lake Michigan!
Last Wednesday, Josephine and I drove out to Grand Haven with our friends to go to Lake Michigan. It was Josephine's first time at the lake, and while she LOVED the seagulls, she was less than excited about the sand and the cold water (50 degrees that day!). :-)

On a HOT Monday in Michigan.
I was going to write about the wonderful weekend Josephine and I enjoyed home alone while Paul was at the cottage, shooting a wedding, but it's so hot that instead I'm going to put my feet up and read until she gets up from her nap.
But, we just got back from the "Monday Movie for Moms" at Celebration Cinema. We saw Crazy, Stupid, Love. It was funny, sweet, a little predictable, but overall good movie. I'm thinking about taking Paul to see it for a date. I think he'd get a kick out of Ryan Gosling's character.

little cruiser
My Josephine is almost 8 months old.
This week, watching her play with her toys, I realized she is starting to look more like a little girl and less like a baby.
So focused.
She is rarely still, hence the blurry phone-photos. I take between 1 and 50 pictures of her per day, and most of them look like this. She is getting better at crawling, but her new favorite thing is STANDING. It's hard to get her to sit on her bottom because she flexes her legs straight out. Crawling is now just the means to get her to something she can climb up on, and she is getting ready to cruise. :-)
I realize so far all of my posts have been about my baby, and I am sure that many of them will be about her because she is such an amazing and huge part of my life. But the reason I started this blog was to get STARTED. To have a place to write for me.I put it off for far too long because I couldn't think of a clever title - which was absurd. So I started it up with just my name. Now, as a new mom, it hasn't been easy to find a lot of time to write, but I hope that with a little practice I'll get better at it.

To know where you're going...
you have to know where you've been.
- mars hill bible church (paraphrased)
And so, I added links to all of my former blogs: xanga, virb, and blogsome. I've been giving in to nostalgia this afternoon looking through all of my old posts. :-)
